Shift Capital is excited to announce the launch of MaKen Office. Located in our MaKen South building, Shift Capital is seeking tenants to join the growing community in North Kensington – one dedicated to a vibrant and inclusive neighborhood.

With over 400,000 SF of creatively designed living and working space that is both online and scheduled to come online in the next 12 months, MaKen South (3401 I St.) is conveniently located one block from the Market Frankford Tioga stop (18 mins to Center City) and 8 minutes by car from I-95. MaKen South has over 100,000 square feet (50,000 SF available) of build-to-suit options available.

While these 20th century historic facilities provide a modern industrial aesthetic that will appeal to many potential users, Shift’s stated goal is to maximize inclusive opportunities for the local and creative communities, and to minimize displacement while attracting value aligned tenants and partners.  We are intentionally seeking businesses and organizations that share this mission. Join our existing tenants Snap Kitchen, Little Babies Ice Cream, Juggarnaut Studios, Feast Your Eyes, Witty Gritty, The Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank and more than sixty others who have benefited from a diverse and robust labor pool and convenient access to public transportation.

In addition to our existing tenants, in the Summer of 2018, Shift Capital and the Kensington Avenue corridor will welcome eight new entrepreneurs who will be opening businesses in the immediate area including: Caphe Coffee, Naturally Sweet Deserts, Pound Cake Heaven, Riposo Café, Philly Pretzel Factory, and Drummond’s Kiddie Kollege.  These businesses are recent awardees of our Storefront Challenge, an innovative competition designed to encourage local entrepreneurs to take part in the reimagining of Kensington Ave.
