“The RACP funds move us one step closer to realizing the vision for the legendary Beury Building,” said Shift’s Vice President of Development, Maria Sourbeer. “This was a collaborative effort working with the governor, Mayor Kenney, our local representatives, partner organizations, and the community.”
The RACP grant will be used to fund the commercial portion of the Beury redevelopment. This will consist of 80 one-bedroom units and 15,000 square feet of commercial space. Shift is continuing to seek financing for a 2019 construction start date.
“The renovation of the Beury Building and this commercial corridor in North Philadelphia is a great example of the revitalization happening all over Philadelphia and especially in the Third Senatorial District,” added Senator Sharif Street.
